Advanced process for the nanocoatings deposition and the Laser precision processes with short and ultra-short laser pulses can contribute to the development of new, innovative, intelligent consumer goods for everyday use, such as the shaving razors that the SpinNano focus, with advanced functionalities such as superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning, super-lubrication, and antimicrobial activity that boost the product performance and significantly extend its lifetime. SpinNano is a highly collaborative industrial research project between Bic-Violex (BIC), which is a global leader in the design, production and commercial distribution of razor blades and related products, and Organic Electronics Technologies (OET), a Greek start-up that specializes in polymers printing (deposition) and Precision Laser processes for materials treatment and nanostructuring.
